Over 500 men and women begin MAN apprenticeships

Admin 8/29/2026 4.0 (1 ratings)

MAN Truck & Bus has enrolled 504 new apprentices for its production sites in Munich, Nuremberg and Salzgitter plus Wittlich and service operations throughout Germany. They join 1,600 young women and men currently enrolled in apprenticeships or dual study programmes at the company.

With all positions filled, Chief Human Resources Officer Hubert Altschäffl says MAN remains an attractive employer: "The company is renowned for its excellent, award-winning training of young talent. Vocational training has always been especially important to us. In this way, we invest in our future and take social responsibility."

The share of female apprentices now exceeds 15 percent at MAN’s German plants and workshops with almost 50 percent at Salzgitter due to strong demand in the logistics sector.

“This trend is very encouraging," adds Stefan Thyssen, Head of Academy & Talent. "However, we are still far from reaching our goal and want to inspire even more young women to pursue vocational training in the future.”

Thyssen notes the transformation of the commercial vehicle industry requires highly qualified professionals and the company has responded with what he describes "as attractive future-oriented fields of expertise, such as manufacturing and automation technology as well as electromobility" training.
